We will always be thankful for the care our mother received from Zion’s Way Hospice. The following quote summarizes our experiences with them. “You have not lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” We truly believe there is no way to repay Zion’s Way Hospice for the care our mother and our family received at the end of her life.
After our mother was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer, it was suggested that she receive hospice. At first, we thought hospice would be a negative thing and something we may want to pursue only in the final days of our mother’s life.
But, after our first visit with Zion’s Way Hospice, we knew their care would be a positive experience for our mother. Even before we had signed up with them, we could not believe the number of people who joined together to provided us with unlimited services. The need for Zion’s Way Hospice is undeniable, their professionalism is unquestioned and their sincerity and caring is genuine.
Seeing a family member struggling to cope with her fears, while facing death, is a very traumatic and difficult experience. Zion’s Way Hospice played a huge role in providing solace and comfort to our mother, which in turn, gave us great comfort and the ability to cope with our own emotions. We are so thankful for all the help they provided us as the strain of our mother’s full time, care was taking its toll on us and we were worrying about the quality of her life.
Before our mother became a Zion’s Way Hospice patient, we felt we had nowhere to turn, especially at night. Then, we were given the gift of Zion’s Way Hospice. They provided calm, sympathetic responses and help to issues that had to be dealt with and they were always honest with us. Their answers to our questions were delivered with sincerity, gentleness and kindness. They were truly angels, appearing whenever we needed them.
We truly believe there is no way to repay Zion’s Way Hospice for the care our mother and our family received at the end of her life. They enabled us to provide for our mother with the comfort, medicines and equipment she needed at home. With the help of the Zion's Way staff, we were able to allow our mother to remain at home through the final phases of her illness.
Choosing Zion’s Way Hospice for our mother’s care was the best decision we made. As we entered an uncertain time of “waiting”, their staff was there to help us, support us and bring us incredible peace. From the very beginning, we were greatly relieved to feel the support system from so many people. They really drew us together as a family to be united in our decision making. We never felt alone. Words cannot express the peace they brought to our mother and our family.
In the final days of our mother’s life, Zion’s Way Hospice was right by our side, giving us direction and comfort. They provided our mother with 24-hour care, even on Thanksgiving Day.
When our mother passed away the day after Thanksgiving, someone was there to help us all get through a most difficult time. The Zion’s Way Hospice staff was helpful, caring and understanding. They did not hurry us with our grief, but allowed us ample time to be with our mother. They also helped us understand the processes involved with the mortuary.
What a wonderful gift and blessing God gave to our family when He placed Zion’s Way Hospice in our lives. We will never forget their love and kindness. We hold each of them dear to our hearts. We truly believe they are all “angels”.
Sincerely,
Gina Gottfredson & The Family of Vicky L. Forrey
