To qualify for Zion’s Way Home Health services covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance, an individual must be homebound or have a qualifying skilled medical need. A physician’s order is needed for approving all services.
According to Medicare, an individual is considered homebound when he or she:
- Cannot leave home unassisted
- Is unable to drive
- May leave home with considerable difficulty and great effort
- Leaves home infrequently for a short time or to receive medical care
An individual has a qualifying, skilled medical need if one of the following services is needed on an intermittent basis:
- A nurse
- A physical therapist
- A specialty therapist
